Hello! My name is Aaron Young and I’m a Senior History major and Middle East studies and Arabic minor. I joined this class and project for a variety of reasons. Firstly, I took Serena’s class, Age of Hamilton, two years ago and loved it. From this class, I heard about her Boston Massacre project and became interested in working on it. I am also a Digital Humanities Associate and am looking at getting more experience in digital history projects that is unconventional to my usual history work of reading, writing, research, and analysis. Since it is my senior year, I am looking to challenge myself with different experiences and diversify some of my skillsets.

As I wrote in the Self Assessed Interests sheet, I am most fascinated in working with maps and the biographies. I believe the biographies will be more akin to what I am used to working on in my historical studies. I am also interested in learning more about mapping and urban planning so this is one thing I’d like to get the chance to work on.
