My name is Stefan Payne-Wardenaar, a Senior geology major. Most of my work went into remodeling Faneuil Hall and designing a main menu, though I also did voice over work for John Whilme and looked into digital music production with period-appropriate instruments.
Faneuil Hall
Faneuil Hall is known for being the location of several important speeches that helped stars the revolutionary war.
For our purposes, we needed the building exterior as a landmark of central Boston. The entire building has been rebuilt twice since the events of the Boston Massacre, and the current building is far taller and wider than the original.

Adjusting the model turned out to be a larger task than expected and, as of May 2017, still requires some work.
To Rebuild the model accurately the tower had to be moved to the center, the entire third floor replaced, and the width reduced by half as well. The original model consisted of a dozen or so different models, each a different material. This was helpful for taking pieces of the model
The second major issue was reducing the triangle count of the building. The original model consisted of over half a million triangles, far in excess of the 64,000 Unity can handle, or 20,000 that was our goal.
Removing parts of the building to correct its size helped somewhat, but major rebuilding of most of the model had to be done as well. In this regard the tower and roof are complete.
The main areas of work left are reducing the polycount of the doors and windows
Newspaper Main Menu
I created the main menu page, building off of the concept put together by Lydia Symchych of a menu that looked like a newspaper from the time
The original text file was created in Photoshop, using (mostly) period appropriate font and embellishments.
In Blender these were applied to a slightly wrinkled plane, given a slight inkblot texture and put onto a background.
For a title screen I created a short animation of the paper being “lifted up” to read , which can transition into a still image to be read and with annotations.
